The Leadership Trust® (TLT), originally a non-profit organization, was co-founded in 1998 by the late Dr. Jim Farr and Dr. Holly Latty-Mann, the former having been the initial founding director of the Center of Creative Leadership. Both Jim and Holly became internationally recognized for their groundbreaking approach to leadership, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.

Engaging 4 major NC universities:

The Leadership Trust® transitioned into a for-profit organization in 2003, moving its headquarters from Greensboro, where it had enjoyed a partnership with Wake Forest Babcock Graduate School of Management to the Research Triangle Park and forming an alliance with Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, their Coach K Center on Leadership and Ethics. Research projects with NC State and also engaging UNC-CH business students equally and greatly enriched TLT.

Its hallmark offering, the 5-day Personalized Leadership Development Program™ with its subsumed Self-Awareness Workshop at its core, received a high participant satisfaction rate of 98-99%, with participants describing their workshop experience (a $7,500 value) as the best training ever throughout their career and their life for both professional and personal improvement. The success of these programs had much to do with the strong emphasis on one’s personal or life skills development.

tlt: then

& now

The Transition to Now:

The pandemic of 2020 hit right after Doc Holly had facilitated an executive team building in January, 2020 at Greenbrier Resort in WV. She had to cancel their April, 2020 workshop with disappointed registered participants. With breath-work a part of the self-awareness portion of all workshops, a respiratory pandemic created this long hiatus between then and now.

Turning Challenges Into Opportunities:

Additionally, with two impending cochlear implants in store for her, she made best use of her time writing a book, now in its final draft, with the goal of capturing the power of the workshops. Inspired to reach more people who could not afford the $7500 program, she realized this book could form the basis for workshop-empowered coaching programs once her hearing sufficiently returned.

The Phoenix Rising from the Ashes:

Personalized coaching in addition to workshops, classes, and sessions…

Fall of 2024 marks a new era of capabilities enabling Dr. Latty-Mann to continue Dr. Jim Farr’s legacy, thanks also to Bluetooth technology.

Resultantly, The Leadership Trust® has expanded its operations beyond leadership workshops, classes, and sessions to include one-on-one coaching. Because leadership and life skills coaching includes the all-important aspect of the role of love in one’s life, those who prefer a more private setting, they may opt for one-on-one coaching over group sessions. Read below for how it’s done.

The Anatomy of Doc Holly’s Coaching Process:

Doc Holly, as her clients like to call her, wrote her dissertation on mate selection, emphasizing what makes these personal relationships work, grow, falter, and/or fail. Many scholars researching leadership dynamics draw upon a compelling number of these conceptual underpinnings as they target how to grow managers into great leaders. It therefore stands to reason how making a positive tweak in one’s personal life can impact their professional life and vice versa.

Sessions target pertinent life events with laser focus and when appropriate, our most poignant workshop PPTs/PDFs greatly invigorate these sessions.

Life and/or leadership coaching may inspire you to engage in a leadership impact study, couple’s coaching, or a visit to address management teams. Customized onsite programs are mutually developed as the need presents itself. Train the trainer may also become an interest for your Human Resources director. The number of consulting possibilities matches the nature of your needs.

Regardless of your focus, or even if you are confused what should be your focus, you will find Doc Holly highly motivated to build in proper definition and jointly achieve your desired results.
